Riverside
A Mass of Christian Burial for Paul Melvin Scherrer, 100, of Riverside, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at St Mary's Catholic Church in Riverside with Father David Brownfield and Deacon Derick Cranston officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Vincent's Cemetery in Riverside with full military honors. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Paul Scherrer died Monday, Dec. 25, 2017, at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City.
A memorial fund has been established for St. Vincent's Cemetery, Riverside First Responders or Iowa City Hospice.
He is survived by a son, Edward (Deb) Scherrer of North Liberty; a daughter, Maureen (Leonard) Corpman of Cedar Falls; and a son, Michael (Coleen) Scherrer of Riverside.
