Paul “PJ” Joseph Wilson, 66, of Iowa City, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, in his home. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Solon with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Iowa City. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre are assisting the family at this time.
Paul was born on October 1, 1959, in Iowa City, the son of James and Doris (Lackender) Wilson. He graduated from the University of Iowa Hospital School. PJ worked for many years at Pizza Hut - Keokuk Street in Iowa City. He enjoyed going on fishing trips with his brothers, turkey hunting, cheering on the “undefeated” Hawkeyes, Packers, White Sox, was a fan of Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Three Stooges, and Laurel and Hardy. PJ loved to celebrate his birthday, laugh, tease, go to Pathways, Adult Day Hab at Reach for Your Potential, and, most of all, spending time with his family.
PJ is survived by his brothers Michael (Martha) Wilson, Richard (Sharon) Wilson, Thomas (Tedi) Wilson, Larry (Colette) Wilson, and Ronald (Joan) Wilson; his sisters Barbara (Lyle) Wilkes, Martha Wilson, Sarah (Dr. Richard) Ceragioli, and Marianne (Nick) Hill; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
