Paul Edward Lis, 56, of Cedar Rapids, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 2, 2018. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018, at All Saints Catholic Church, where a visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial: Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The Rev. John Flaherty will officiate. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his sister, Louise Ann (Bill) Murray of Concord, N.C., and his aunt, Blanche Blazis of Poquonock, Conn. Also surviving are Paul's nieces, Sarah (Ric) Bennett of Harrisburg, N.C., Laura (Jason) Coffman of Charlotte, N.C., and Jennifer (Jared) Dombroski of Concord, N.C.; special grandnephews, Will Bennett of Harrisburg, N.C., and Cole Dombroski of Concord, N.C., special grandniece, Ellie Bennett of Harrisburg, N.C.; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Helen Lis; and his sister, Linda Kay Lis.
Paul was born on Nov. 3, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Edward and Helen (Gerleman) Lis. He worked for Kwikway Iowa National and Aegon in Cedar Rapids, and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Paul enjoyed bowling and watching football, basketball and the Hawkeyes. He loved and treasured time spent with family and annual trips to North Carolina.
