He was preceded in death by his father, Peter R. Hasler.
Paul Edward Hasler was born Jan. 10, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Peter R. and Mary Peters Hasler. He graduated from the Monticello Community Schools in 1975 and continued his education at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, graduating in 1977. Paul started farming with his dad and brother Peter on the family farm in Lovell Township. The brothers continued farming together after their father's death. Paul married Deanne Burkle on Feb. 14, 1981.
Paul loved the farm and being outside. He loved to hunt and fish and especially enjoyed deer hunting with his large group of friends. He was always helping neighbors, family or friends with projects because he could fix anything. Woodworking was a hobby he enjoyed as well. He loved to spend time with his granddaughter, Scarlett, especially taking her fishing.
