Paul Mitchell Hallberg, 78, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Aug. 2, 2021. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Inurnment to follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Paul was born July 3, 1943, to Paul and Velma (Snowden) Hallberg, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He married Karen Maxine McMann on Sept. 4, 1988, in Las Vegas, Nev. He owned his own barbershop down on the Avenue for many years. He also worked at Penick & Ford and Evergreen Packaging in Cedar Rapids, prior to retiring in 2009. He had a passion for hunting and fishing, even in Alaska. He also participated in many fishing trips. In his prime, he loved riding his Harley. He was active with his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Karen Hallberg of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; children, Stacy (Scott) Bauler of Florida, Becky (Steven) Beck of Florida, Brian (Molly) Hallberg of California, Karmen Anderson of Cedar Rapids and Kristene Honzik of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Lauren, Alyssa, Ally, Kelsey, Andrew, Olivia and Anna; and beloved grand-dogs, Sammie and Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Anne Hallberg.
