Paul Calvin Glenn, 61,
of Ames, formerly of Mechanicsville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014. Paul courageously fought renal cell carcinoma for the last eight years, living each day to the fullest. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Mechanicsville United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to the Paul and Shari Glenn Kirkwood Scholarship and/or the Mechanicsville Methodist Church.
Paul was born Feb. 12, 1953, in Anamosa, Iowa, and was the son of Calvin and Esther Nicoll Glenn. He graduated from Olin High School in 1971 and later Iowa State University in 1976. On Aug. 7, 1976, Paul was united in marriage to Shari E. Anderson in Jefferson, Iowa. Paul was a farmer first and foremost. In addition, he was an auctioneer and owned and operated Midwest Appraisers and Liquidators as well as Shaul Grain Elevator in Morley. Paul was a member of the Mechanics-ville United Methodist Church, was a Kirkwood Community College trustee, a member of the Olin Masonic Lodge, as well as numerous organizations and civic activities.
Paul is survived by his wife, Shari of Ames; daughter, Sarah E. Glenn of Chicago; sons, Eric P. Glenn and wife Cari of Overland Park, Kan., and Adam J. Glenn and wife Kimber of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Caleb, Isaac and Ava Glenn and Camille and Colette Glenn; his mother, Esther Glenn of Ames, formerly of Olin; and sisters, Vicki Glenn-Kayden and husband Mort of Boston, Mass., and Karen Fowler and husband Rick of Oxford Junction.
He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin; as well as his in-laws, Carolyn and Wayne Anderson.
