PAUL A. FORBES
Cedar Rapids
Paul Arthur Forbes, 62, of Cedar Rapids, passed away with his loving family by his side on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom. A celebration of life will be held at Vito's on 42nd Street following the visitation.
Paul was born Dec. 6, 1953, in Fairfield, Iowa, to Lester and Louise (Peck) Forbes. He graduated from St. Ambrose University with a bachelor's degree in economics. He worked for Hewlett Packard for many years as a technical analyst.
He loved spending time in his wildflower garden and studying his family genealogy. He was an avid Hawkeye fan, and every Saturday he could be found watching his Hawkeyes play football.
Paul loved to travel and capture the world through photography. It was a rare sight to see him without his camera in hand.
Paul is survived by his two daughters, Chelsea (Rob) Archibald and Cassi Forbes; three granddaughters, Alexis, Amelia and Adelyn; his mother, Louise Forbes; seven siblings, Eileen Forbes, Mary Ellen Forbes, Doug (Shelli) Forbes, Steve (Jan) Forbes, Rich (Coni) Forbes, John Forbes and Angela (Bruce) Bussey; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.
