Patsy Ann Power, 70, of Olin, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A public visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at noon at the chapel. Burial to follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Patsy was born Jan. 3, 1951, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of William and Louise (Furler) Edgerly. She graduated from Central City High School. Patsy was united in marriage to Donald Power on June 13, 1970, in Mount Vernon, Iowa. She was employed over the years at Turner Microphone, Square D, Hauschilds and Hunter Specialty. Her hobbies included crosswords, taking care of her plants and flowers, scratching lottery tickets, watching Wheel of Fortune (making sure she always got the answer before Don) and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Patsy was known for always putting others first. It was the special gift she always had.
Patsy is survived by her husband, Donald of Olin, Iowa; three children, Shannon Vacek (Brandon Hagmeier) of Tipton, Iowa, Tonya Hawker (Vaughn Husmann) of Marion, Iowa, and Cameron Power of Olin, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Alexis, Dillon, Dalton, Nicole, Allyssa and Kane; four great-grandchildren, Khloe, Dominik, Karter and Kashton; and nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sharon Baily; and a brother, Robert Edgerly.
Patsy was a devoted and wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
