Patrick "Pat" Anton Frank, 89, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016.
Pat was born July 4, 1927, in Cedar Rapids to Joseph and Frances (Stookey) Frank. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard, where he served honorably during World War II. He became a Arthur Murray dance instructor, attended college and was married to Rita (Pfranger) Mills. They had two children.
He was a member of the American Legion. He operated his own service station business in Iowa and Texas throughout most of his career.
Pat was united in marriage to Sandra (Harrison) Rundall on Aug. 14, 2004, in Cedar Rapids.
He enjoyed cars, both new and classic, and boating, waterskiing and swimming. He loved to spend time with his family.
Pat is survived by his wife, Sandra of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Jennifer Frank; son, Brian (Jenn) Frank, and grandsons, Nicolas and Alex Paramo, all of Dallas, Texas; and stepson, Scott (Erin) Rundall of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul Frank; sister, Grace Farmer; and former wives, Betty (Rundall) Frank and Miranda (Meek) Frank.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, officiated by retired pastor the Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
