Patrick, Earl Everitt
Earl Everitt Patrick, 86, of Elkader, passed away Tuesday March 6, 2012, at the Elkader Care Center. A wake will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Peace United Church of Christ, Elkader, followed by Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m.
Earl is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Patrick; and two sons, Edmund (Melissa) Patrick and Harlan (Joyce) Patrick, both of Elkader.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Gary Earl Patrick.
Earl was born Dec. 18, 1925, to Rodger Everett and Hazel Alice (Whitcher) Patrick in Auburn, Iowa. He was a World War II veteran of the Army. He married his wife, Helen Lucille (Lauer) Patrick on July 25, 1948, at the Bethel Presbyterian Church in West Union. For 39 years, Earl owned and operated Patrick's Tavern and Cafe. He was a member of the Elkader Fire Department for 28 years an also a member of Elkader Development Committee. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, fishing and hunting game and mushrooms with family and friends.
