Patricia Ann Wenger, 89, of Silver Creek, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at home with all four of her daughters present. Celebration of Life services will be 6 p.m Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Living Hope Wesleyan Church, 1500 Boyson Rd. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402, with the Rev. Chopper Brown presiding. Fellowship and a light meal will follow services. Private family inurnment will be in Silver Creek Cemetery at a later date.
Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
Patricia was born May 29, 1925, in Coggon, the daughter of Lloyd S. LeClere, raised by her aunt and uncle, Theresa and Harry Lyons. She graduated from Coggon High School. She married Dean E. Wenger on Aug. 11, 1943, in Silver Creek. Pat and Dean raised five children on the family farm in Silver Creek. In their later years they were one of the first husband-wife over the road truck drivers. She enjoyed sightseeing, crocheting, painting, crossword puzzles, reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Pat is survived by her children, Kathy (Dave) McClain of Las Vegas, Nev., Harriet Wenger of Hiawatha, Sandy (Jerry) Stiles of Las Vegas, Nev., and Wendy (Ron) Light of Warsaw, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean, who died in 2005; a son, Terry Wenger, who died in April 2014; grandson, Todd Wenger; and a brother, Robert LeClere.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous.
