Patricia A. Ritchie, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Heritage Nursing and
Rehab Center. Services: noon Monday at Teahen Funeral Home by Chaplain Jim Goodrich. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family after 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Patricia is survived by her five children, Susan Kittrell of Texas, Kathy (Mike) Williams of Iowa, Bill Hoerner of Missouri, Ann (Edgar) Horton of Texas and Robert "Bobbie" Gorman; 13 grandchildren, Shelly, Kelly, Ryan, Jennifer, A.J., Amy, Brandon, Nathan, Ross, Felicia, Debra, Caroline and Mike; 32 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Martin "Red" Benda; son-in-law, Steven Kittrell; and sister, Maxine Benda Skela.
Patricia Ann was born April 6, 1930, in Brooklyn, the daughter of Martin and Arlene Benda. She graduated from Roosevelt High School.
She loved her family, shopping, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, singing and bingo.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Heritage for their kind and compassionate care of Patricia over the years. The family also would like to thank Care Initiatives Hospice for their loving care and friendship over the last few years.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to Care Initiatives Hospice.
