Patricia Anne Peyton, 84, of Iowa City, died peacefully on March 26, 2021, at her home in Iowa City. At Patricia's request, no funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward the Regina Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
Patricia was born Nov. 21, 1936, in Washington, Iowa,
the daughter of Wilbur Ray "Irish" and Dorothy May (Fritz) Richardson. She was raised in Washington and a graduate of Washington High School. In September 1956, Patricia married Benjamin Barnes. Patricia and Ben had four children, Benjamin, Paul, Valerie and William. They divorced after more than 20 years of marriage.
On June 30, 1983, Patricia married Dale C. Peyton in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Dale passed away in 1986.
For over 15 years, Patricia worked in construction services administration and engineering for Procter & Gamble. She retired in 1997.
She was an avid reader and loved to travel.
Patricia is survived by her two sons, Benjamin (Robyn) Barnes of Houston, Texas, and Paul (Bridgette) Barnes of Russia; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Nick, Heather, Hannah, Gabrielle, Corey and Josh; siblings, Joseph Richardson and Joanne Bell, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and numerous extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Dorothy Richardson; husband, Dale Peyton; son, William Barnes; daughter, Valerie Barnes; brother, L. Vernon Richardson; and sister-in-law, Beverly Richardson.
