Patricia “Patty” (Vomacka) Kalous

Patricia “Patty” (Vomacka) Kalous, 71, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. A celebration of life will take place later in the spring. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
Patty was born Dec. 14, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Elsner and Louise (Sloup) Vomacka. She graduated from Jefferson High School, Class of 1970. Patty was united in marriage to Kenneth “Ken” Kalous on Feb. 28, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nev. She greeted customers at the McGrath Collision Center for over 25 years. Patty was a charter member and served as an officer for TOPS in the Cedar Rapids area. She and Ken enjoyed camping. Above all else, Patty loved spending time with her grandkids.
Survivors include her son, Jason (Mary) Powers of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Caitlin (Brandon) Bickford and Jackson Powers, all of Cedar Rapids; two great-grandchildren, Emmett and Irie; sister, Linda Hasson of Marion, Iowa; sister-in-law, Mary Vomacka of Amana, Iowa; her dog, Chewy; and several nieces and nephews.
Patty was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Kalous; parents, Elsner and Louise Vomacka; and brother, Richard Vomacka.
