Patricia “Patti” Marie Smith, 75, of Anamosa, Iowa, died Saturday, April 27, 2024. Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, with a visitation one hour prior. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
Patti was born January 11, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Phillip) Michalec. She graduated from LaSalle High School. Patti dedicated herself to raising her children and later worked for Country Kitchen in Marion, Happy Chef in Cedar Rapids, and City Limits Lounge & Restaurant in Anamosa. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Anamosa.
Survivors include her children, Rodney (Deb) Smith, Dawn McNeeley, Wendi Smith, all of Anamosa, Rick Smith of Cedar Rapids, and Matthew (Sam) Smith of Mason City, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Philly Michalec, Billy (Sherri) Michalec, Michael (Diane) Michalec, Robert Michalec, Rosie Harvey, Teresa (Bob) Ruzicka, and Sister Mary Frances, all of Cedar Rapids; and sister-in-law, Karen Michalec.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Michalec; ; fiancé, Tony Imhoff; daughter, Lori Mead; and siblings, Joan Marie Miller, Franklin, Benjamin, and Bernard Michalec.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial fund that will be established in Patti’s honor.
