PATRICIA J. “PAT” LENOCH
Iowa City
Patricia J. "Pat" Lenoch, 93, of Iowa City, passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at Lantern Park Nursing & Rehab Center in Coralville. Pat's family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service. A memorial Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church
in Iowa City. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City. Instead of flowers and plants, the family suggests memorials
to St. Wenceslaus Church, Iowa City Hospice or the Iowa City Animal Care & Adoption Center. Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City is handling arrangements.
Born Nov. 8, 1927, in Tuscola, Ill., the daughter of James and Ivy (James) Anderson, Pat grew up in both Tuscola and Chulavista, Calif., graduating from Sweetwater Union High School in National City, Calif.
Pat met her future husband, Leo Lenoch at a CEO military dance in San Diego, and the rest was history! The couple married July 22, 1945, in Chulavista. Pat and Leo moved to Iowa City that same year.
She operated the family home and raised her children, also working at the Johnson County Treasurer's Office and in the greeting card section at the Iowa City K-Mart. Pat later worked for 16 years at the Iowa City Press Citizen as a circulation worker, retiring in 1997.
She enjoyed much in life – bowling, golfing, dancing, traveling, bingo and time spent on the family pontoon boat, enjoying Leo's chicken in the pot dinners in the coves at the Coralville reservoir. Pat could also be found cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes but simply enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Pat was a member of St. Wenceslaus Church and Iowa City Elk's Lodge.
Survivors include her children, Kami Greer (Steve) of Iowa City, Kelli Rinderspacher (Ed) of West Branch and Barry Lenoch (Tammy) of Champaign, Ill.; grandchildren, Stephanie Stimmel (Ryan, Chad Lenoch (Raelene), Fallon Stefani (Matt) and Jesse Greer; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Grey, Gabe, Noah, Jack, Luke, Libby, Katey, Gracey, Sloan and Sydney; daughter-in-law, Sandi Thompson of Wellman; and longtime friend, Laura Schumacher of Iowa City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; son, Stephen Lenoch; two great-grandsons, Ryan and Logan Lenoch; sisters, Lolita Sullivan, Loretta Shephard and Amy Royal; a brother, Wendell Anderson; and her best buddy, her Yorkie, Maxie.
Pat's family wishes to thank Dr. Margo Schilling, the staff at Legacy, Lantern Park Nursing & Rehab Center and Iowa City Hospice, for the excellent care that they provided to Pat.
