PATRICIA (SANKOT) PACANOWSKI
Kenosha, Wis.
Patricia (Sankot) Pacanowski of Kenosha, Wis., passed away Friday, April 29, 2016, in Milwaukee as a result of an injury from a fall. Her loving husband, Dr. Roger Pacanowski, was at her side.
Born Feb. 25, 1936, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Frank L. and Eleanor (Mulherin) Sankot. She attended local schools in Iowa and graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Cedar Rapids. She practiced nursing in Iowa City, San Francisco, Calif., Minneapolis, Los Angeles and Milwaukee, Wis., where she was a neonatal intensive care nurse.
On Aug. 2, 1975, she married Dr. Roger Pacanowski at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Milwaukee.
She was a talented pianist and loved classical music. She performed at the Anderson Art Center for many art openings. Pat was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, former president of Four Seasons Garden Club in Kenosha, former president of Ikebana International- Wisconsin chapter, former member of Kenosha Symphony Orchestra board and former president of Kenosha Medical Society Auxiliary.
She was soft spoken and had a very kind heart.
Pat is survived by her husband, Dr. Roger Pacanowski; her daughter, Molli (Patrick) Kiser of Chicago; her siblings, Margaret Sankot, James (Judy) Sankot, Tom (Cathy) Sankot and William Sankot; her aunt, Hope Rogers; and nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Pat was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Sankot.
Funeral services were May 7. Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Kenosha, Wis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 4816 Seventh Ave., Kenosha, WI 53140; Kenosha Achievement Center, 1218 79th St., Kenosha, WI 53143; or Shalom Center, 1713 62nd St., Kenosha, WI 53143.
