PATRICIA MAE HUDSON
Iowa City
Patricia Mae Hudson, 91, formerly of Iowa City, Iowa, passed into heaven on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020, in Scottsdale, Ariz. She was known as a woman of God, loving wife and mother.
Patricia was born on Dec. 28, 1928. She was the daughter of Edward Joseph and Bessie Loretta Pechman. Raised on the family farm near Iowa City, Patricia graduated from City High School and received her secretarial degree from Iowa City Community Business School in 1949. She also was a fashion model for a period of time.
Patricia married the love of her life, Wallace Weir Hudson, on June 4, 1949. They were married for 64 years, until Wallace preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2014. Wally and Pat were devout Christians and Patricia's life was guided by her favorite Scripture: "The joy of the Lord is my strength" (Neh 8:10). She was always willing to listen and pray with anyone in need. Her sense of humor was a blessing to all who knew her. She touched many lives with her understanding, wisdom and love. Pat will be greatly missed by all.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Linda K. Jones of Haslet, Texas; her son, Michael J. Hudson of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. May God bless you, Mom, as you have blessed us. We will see you in heaven.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no funeral or visitation. Patricia will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Wally, in Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to SBG Ministries, 6 Woodstock Ct., Greensboro, NC 27408-3816. Online condolences may be sent to her family at www.gayandciha.com. Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Services in Iowa City is caring for Patricia's family and her services.
