Patricia L (Pat) Jones - Edgewater Assisted Living – West Des Moines, IA
Pat, at age 99, passed away peacefully August 24, 2025 under Hospice care. There will be no funeral, as she requested.
Pat was born in Creston, Iowa in December 1925. She married Paul R. (Bob) Jones and lived in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Spirit Lake, Marion, Urbandale and lastly West Des Moines. She was preceded in death by parents Zoe and Fred Cochrane, brother Bill Cochrane and sisters Jean Balius, Helen Pelmulder and Venetia Blakely, as well as by husband Bob (2006). She is survived by brother Ben Cochrane, daughters Kathryn (formerly Wehling) Troup and Susan Grant (David), grandson Jeff Wehling (Lori), granddaughter Deborah Shoemaker (Gipson), and great grandchildren Ethan and Emily Wehling and Gipson and Jake Shoemaker.
Pat was admired for her kindness, love of family, and generous heart. She had a delightful sense of humor and a sparkle in her eye that could lift any mood. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—cooking, baking, walking, working on jigsaw puzzles, sewing with care, tending her garden, and lending a helping hand to her beloved husband Bob (2006), with his many hobbies and projects. Together they built a life rich in love, teamwork, and shared adventures.
She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, laughter, and treasured recipes, along with a family who will forever cherish the memories they shared. Her life was a beautiful testament to the power of kindness and respect, love and generosity, and finding joy in a job well done.
