St. Lucas
Patricia Ann Kuennen, 69, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016, after a brief, courageous battle with colon cancer at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines with her family by her side.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 16, at St. Luke's Catholic Church in St. Lucas, with the Rev. Nick March presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Hampton.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 15, and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Luke's Catholic Church in St. Lucas, where there will be a rosary at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Pat is survived by her husband, Wilfred of St. Lucas; and three children, Kelly Kuennen of Johnston, Deano and Nancy (Schmitt) Kuennen of Granger and Jeno and Monica (Heideman) Kuennen of Urbandale. She has four beautiful grandchildren: Caleb (17), Cade (12), Landen (10) and Maggie (8). Pat's siblings and in-laws are Dan (Judy) Brady of Onalaska, Wis., Jean (Roger) Kolbet of New Hampton, Victoria Schmitt of West Union, Mary Ann Kuennen of Lawler, Don (Mary) Kuennen of St. Lucas, Marilyn (Dick) Nienhaus of Fort Atkinson, Cora (Tom) Lynch of Nashua, Leona (Tim) Bodensteiner of Grinnell, Gaylord Kuennen (Pat Kennedy) of St Lucas, Dennis (Janet) Kuennen of St Lucas and Allan (Pam) Kuennen of Cedar Rapids.
The Schluter-Balik Funeral Home in Decorah is handling arrangements.
