Patricia "Pat" L. Kent, 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully sur-rounded by family at her home on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. A memorial service celebrating Pat's life will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 4, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Rick Gail officiating. Inurnment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; sons, Steve (Donna) Kent of Cedar Rapids and David (Debra) Kent of Center Point; grandchildren, Scott (Kerri) Kent of Dubuque, Dan (Diana) Kent of Cedar Rapids and Mitchell Kent of Iowa City; six great-grandchildren, Elijah, Levi, Libby, Evianna, Kiersten and Caleb; sister, Elsie Ann Kloubec of Cedar Rapids; and sister-in-law, Claudine (Harold) Hixson of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Lawrence D. Kloubec.
Patricia Lee Vrba was born Dec. 16, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Ludwig and Elsie (Metelak) Vrba. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1957. On June 15, 1957, she married Robert Kent in Cedar Rapids. Pat worked as a CFS clerk for the United States Postal Service for many years, retiring in 1997. After retirement, Pat worked at the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library in the gift shop. She also was actively involved in three senior bowling leagues in Cedar Rapids, where she had served as secretary on one of the leagues. In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing the organ and piano and was a talented vocalist/ soloist.
Memorials may be given in her name to Hospice of Mercy or Cedar Valley Humane Society, Cedar Rapids.
