Patricia Kaye Bomkamp nee Gould, 83, a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Feb. 3, 2022, in Chicago, Ill.
She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and attended Mount Mercy College. She spent a majority of her life living in Northern Virginia, raising her three children.
She was an administrative assistant for much of her working life, most notably getting the chance to work for a government contractor as an event planner that took her all over the world, from Belgium to Korea.
Post-retirement, she became an avid dollhouse builder and designer, even learning how to electrify her creations. She designed and decorated everything from a single-room replica of her youngest daughter's dorm room to a multi-room mansion made to replicate the Von Trapp family house from "The Sound of Music."
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Christopher (Susan) Bomkamp, Kathryn Bomkamp and Samantha (Joseph) Des Jardins; and a granddaughter, Sierra.
There will be a private interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
