Patricia Kay McPherson, 85, of Anamosa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021, at her home in Anamosa surrounded by family. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Anamosa, conducted by the Rev. Nick March. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Anamosa. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
Patricia was born Oct. 9, 1935, in Des Moines, the daughter of Byron and Kathleen (Ward) Faulkner. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines and attended Nursing School at the University of Iowa. On May 16, 1956, Patricia was united in marriage to Roland McPherson. The couple later divorced. She enjoyed reading, gardening, antiquing, the symphony, and was a very active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Anamosa. Patricia loved to travel and felt fortunate to have been able to live in and visit places all over the world. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Pamela Jennings of Marion and Andrea Laverty of Tucson, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Dan Jennings (Erin Kinen) of West Des Moines, Matt Jennings of Marion, Nick Jennings (Aubree Bowers) of Cedar Rapids, Michael Jennings (Sarah Hamer) of Cedar Rapids, David Jennings of Iowa City, Casey Laverty of Tucson, Ariz., Lora (Michael) Vormittag of Carpentersville, Ill., and Robert Laverty of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother-in-law, Jerry Chaffee of Cedar Rapids; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary K. Chaffee; and son-in-law, Jeffrey Jennings.
