PATRICIA "PATTI" GOINS

Patricia "Patti" Jean Morrissey Goins, 61, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, April 4, 2015, at her home as a result of renal failure. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus.
Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, with military services by American Legion Post 727 and AMVETS Post 6. A vigil service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. and at the church Wednesday after 9 a.m.
Patti is survived by her son, Martin (Beth) Kalina of Verona, Wis.; stepson, Michael (Lori) Goins of Nichols; stepdaughter, Jennifer Shiek of Ankeny; three brothers, Dennis (Mary) Morrissey, Joseph (Jody) Morrissey and Loren Morrissey, all of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Karen (Duane) Funk and Barbara (Tracy) Eggleston, both of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Sean and Abigail; stepgrandchildren, Josh, Jackson and Ally; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Her husband and parents preceded her in death.
Patti was born Aug. 8, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of D. Leo and Margery Ann Kuhn Morrissey. She married James Louis "Louie" Goins on July 3, 1993, in Cedar Rapids. He died in 2010. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1971 and joined the Army where she completed her nursing training and served as a licensed practical nurse. She was employed for 12 years as an LPN at UnityPoint Hospital.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and AMVETS Post 6.
Patti enjoyed spending time with her family.
