Patricia D. Blackledge, 72, of Grandview, passed away on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at her home in Grandview. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Patricia Dawn VanHamme was born March 27, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Maxine (Malacek) VanHamme. She was a 1969 graduate of Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids. Patricia was united in marriage to Wayne Blackledge in Cedar Rapids and the couple later divorced. Patricia worked as a Trabadajor at Heinz in Muscatine where she retired. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing Bingo and Candy Crush, was an avid QVC shopper and loved her dog, Gandalf.
Patricia will be deeply missed by her children, Corey Blackledge of Cedar Rapids and Sara Ashelford of Boston, Mass.; two grandchildren, Morgan and Samantha; brother, Michael VanHamme of Carlisle; two sisters, Susan (Frank) Hulshizer of Palo and Shelly Stenzel of Lisbon; and special neighbors, Ben and Oliva Barajas and their children, Seth, Alex and Jared.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents.
