Patricia Calvert, 94, Jamestown, ND died Sunday, October 13, 2024, under the care of hospice at SMP-Health Ave Maria in Jamestown.
Interment will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Wilcox Cemetery, Anamosa, IA.
Patricia Curry was born April 17, 1930, at Cedar Rapids, IA the daughter of Edward and Marguerite (Hatton) Curry. She grew to womanhood in the area, attending elementary school and graduating from Roosevelt High School Cedar Rapids in 1948.
She and George R. Calvert were married July 6, 1957, at Cedar Rapids, IA. They made their home on a farm in Central City IA and later moved to Marion, IA where she worked at a Target store.
She moved to Jamestown in 2005 after her husband passed, to be near her daughter and granddaughter.
She was a member of the Red Hats Society in Jamestown. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and especially “diamond painting” which she often gave to others. She enjoyed dining out with friends and the occasional trip to the casino.
After moving into Ave Maria, she made many great friends with staff and other residents and especially loved the resident dog Oslo. She had great fun playing bingo and the other games along with “happy hours” and other events.
Patricia is survived by daughter, Pam (Douglas) Thurow, Jamestown, ND; brother, James (Annette) Curry, Wayzata, MN; granddaughter, Angela (Brent Tabor), & 2 great grand doodles (Norman and Walter).
She was preceded in death by her husband on January 17, 2000; her parents; and one brother, Gary.
The family requests memorials to SMP Health-Ave Maria.
