Patricia Louise Buehler, 85, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Monday, Aug. 23, 2021, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, Iowa, after a short battle with cancer. A rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood, Cedar Rapids, where a visitation will follow from 4:30 until 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids.
Patricia was born July 24, 1936, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Francis Woodrow and Dorothy America (Robshaw) Boat. Patricia lived in Cedar Rapids and married Richard Martin Buehler in 1958. They had two daughters, Elizabeth in 1962 and Mary in 1968.
Patricia worked at Rockwell International doing government avionics for 38 years until her retirement. She also worked at the US Cellular Center, All Saints Catholic School and Cedar Rapids Schools through the Foster Grandparent Program, Kirkwood Softball Complex, AMPCO parking at the Cedar Rapids airport, Midwest Janitorial and the Crown Plaza Hotel gift shop during her retirement years. Patricia loved spending time with her family, crossword puzzles and murder mystery shows. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for 60 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth America (Terry) Buehler-Sapp of Des Moines and Mary Louise Buehler of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Benjamin Keith Bentley Buehler; great-grandson, Kyle Tousley-Buehler; sister, Juanita Mae Ballentine, all of Cedar Rapids; niece, Dorothy (Robin) Moulds of Anamosa; nephews, James (Lori) Ballentine Jr. of Marion and Daniel William Shields of Hueytown, Ala.; great-niece, Nyssa (Cliff) Moulds Dixon of Capon Bridge, W.Va.; and great-nephew, Derek Moulds of Chicago, Ill.
Patricia was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy America Boat; sister, Sandra Kay Boat Shields; and her ex-husband, Richard Martin Buehler.
