Patricia Ann Bienlien, 76, of Freeport, Ill., passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. A memorial celebration will be held in Freeport in August, with the date and time to be announced. Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City.
Patricia was born Feb. 19, 1938, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of William Thomas Milligan Sr. and Dorothy May Nolan. She was a graduate of Drake University, with a degree in elementary education. On June 11, 1960, Patricia married James Francis Bienlien.
Survivors include her loving husband, James of Freeport; and their three daughters, Barbara Jayne (Steve) van der Woude of Iowa City and their children, Katherine Grace and Sidney James; Nancy Ann (Jeff) Moon of Cedar Rapids and Marjorie Kay Bienlien of Iowa City; siblings, Susan Jayne Henkel of Hayward, Wis., and William Thomas Milligan III of Des Moines; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Judith Kay Semple.
Patricia was a wonderful hostess and loved to entertain family and friends.
She will be greatly missed.
