Patricia “Pat,” daughter of Gerald Wayne and Norma Mildred Chambliss, was born on Friday, Sept. 3, 1948, in Muscatine, Iowa. She graduated with Tipton High School’s Class of 1966. On July 20, 1991, Pat married Donald Eugene Parker in Cedar Rapids. She worked as a Claims Supervisor for Aegon Life Insurance Company and was of the Methodist faith.
Pat was a genuine and intuitive person. She could strike up a conversation with just about anybody and was a good judge of character. Pat enjoyed planting spring and summer flowers, shopping and her Boyds Bears and Dollstone collections. Family was most important to Pat and she loved keeping in touch with her family and friends through Facebook.
Pat is survived by her husband, Don; daughter, Kelley (Oren) Peterson; son, Patrick Parker; sister, Shirley Grunder; brother, Robert (Lois Greenwald) Chambliss; sister-in-law, Diane Chambliss; and grandchildren, Alaina Parker, Lucas, Owen, Miä and Sven Peterson; and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Norma; sister, Janet Chambliss; brothers, Ronald Chambliss and Richard Chambliss; sisters-in-law, Kathryn Chambliss and Judith Chambliss; brother-in-law, Marlyn Grunder; and mother-in-law, Donna Parker.
Family would like to extend a special thank-you to the Mercy Medical Center Cedar Rapids ICU Unit, and especially to Nurse Audrey and Dr. Wilson.
