Patricia Lois Adney, 77, of Marion, passed away June 9, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital.
Funeral services: 2 p.m. Sunday, June 19, at Grace Episcopal Church, with a Celebration of Life to follow in the lower level of the church. The Rev. Dr. Curt Moermond will officiate. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her children, Matthew of Colorado Springs, Colo., Christopher of Chicago, Charles (Dawn) of Cedar Rapids, Marla Adney of Omaha, Neb., and Elizabeth Benn of Sun Prairie, Wis.; two sisters, Shirley McCowan of Wagoner, Okla., and Janet Niles of Omaha; two brothers, Leland Waters of Morrison, Ill., and Glenn Waters of Bradford, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Portia Adney-Ahiakpor of Brooklyn, N.Y., Jacob Wasek of Madison, Wis., Madeleine Wasek of Chicago, Danielle Adney of Colorado Springs, Connor Adney of Omaha, Charles and Greenlee Adney, both of Cedar Rapids, and Toben Adney of Chicago; and one great-grandchild, Aston Ahiakpor of Brooklyn, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Pat was born June 6, 1939, in Sterling, Ill., to Marvin and Iva (Hamaker) Waters. On Aug. 8, 1957, she was united in marriage to John G. Adney. John passed away in 2010. Pat was a registered nurse and worked at Mercy Medical Center for 18 years. She later worked at St. Luke's Hospital for over 20 years, retiring in 2012.
Pat was a longtime and faithful member of Grace Episcopal Church. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining for both family and her many friends, and was an avid quilter.
Pat was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
