Pat High, age 76, of Anamosa, IA, passed away in the care of UnityPoint Hospice at the Grundy Care Center on Sunday, September 15. The family will hold a private burial at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center.
Pat was born on July 14, 1948, in Marshalltown, IA, to Robert and Marcella High of Grundy Center, IA. She graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1966. Pat lived in Anamosa, IA for most of her adult life, and worked for Rockwell Collins (now known as Collins Aerospace) for 39 years as an Assembly Operator on the ARC210 radio power supply. She was known for being a reliable, hard worker who took pride in doing excellent work. Pat developed several lifelong friendships during her career at Rockwell Collins that she cherished well into her retirement.
Outside of work, Pat was a devoted Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. She religiously read the paper each day to check sports scores. It was always easy to have a lengthy conversation with Pat about what trades the Cubs were making, or how the Hawkeyes did in their most recent game - regardless of the sport. Pat also enjoyed playing cards, and dinner with friends at the local Chinese and Mexican restaurants in Anamosa.
Pat is survived by her siblings Bruce (Cynthia) High and Laurie (Vern) Folkedahl; nieces Kori (Dan) Hatch and Lynn (Shane) Blythe; two grandnephews; three grandnieces; and her uncle Les High. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Marcella High and her sister Barb High.
