Parmater, Colleen (Connie)
Colleen (Connie) Parmater, 83, of Des Moines, formerly of Vinton, Cedar Rapids, Earlville and California, died Friday, March 26, 2010, at Trinity Center in Des Moines. A memorial luncheon will be held May 22 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Lion and Lamb B&B in Vinton, with burial of cremains in Vinton.
She was born in Vinton on Feb. 15, 1927, the daughter of Frank and Mae Lynch.
Colleen married Russell R. Parmater on Aug. 26, 1946, in Vinton. She worked at the Dyersville Commercial many years as office manager until retirement in 1997. She moved to California after retirement.
She is survived by four children, Patrick of Minnetonka, Minn., Peggy (Jim) Pierce of West Des Moines, Steve (Marilyn) of California and Sue of California; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Russ and brother Roger Lynch.
