Parizek, Linda L.
On Oct. 22, 2009, as God called Linda L. Parizek's name, our angel entered into eternal rest, a place prepared just for her. Linda lost her brave battle with cancer at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, surrounded by family and a lot of love. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine by Deacon Joe Behounek. Burial will be in National Cemetery near Vining. Friends may call at Hrabak's on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. where a Scripture service will be at 7 p.m.
Linda was born May 19, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of William and Carol White Bartosh. She received her education in the Cedar Rapids schools. Linda was very proud of achieving her GED later in life. Although she worked in several different jobs, her most recent employer was Lennox, Inc. in Marshalltown.
Linda married Dennis Parizek Sr. on June 25, 1960. They recently celebrated 49 years together.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; six children, Gloria (Chet) Wendt of Traer, Dennis Jr. (Lynn) Parizek of Belle Plaine, Theresa (Ron) Stivers of Coralville, Cindy (Mike) Dunning of Toledo, Sarah Homrighausen of Tama and Dallas Parizek of Chelsea. Her 14 grandchildren include Kristin and Frank (Katie) Wendt, Jason (Amber), Tony (Joni), and Kyle (Ashley) Parizek, Jennifer and Robbie Stivers, Brandon and Boston Dunning, Elysia, Mariah and Kacie Homrighausen, Marissa and Makenzie Parizek. She was a great-grandma to seven, Arianna, Ava, Alivia, Kylie, Kadence, Landon and Larkin. Also surviving are her sister, Rose Pfeifle; and a brother, Bill (Sally) Bartosh.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and faith were extremely important to her. She loved to joke around with us even in her final days, but now they are some of the many memories we cherish. She always enjoyed being a mother and raising her children. There are many memories of family gatherings, volleyball and softball games, roller skating, dancing, playing cards, gardening, and making after school treats. She shared her deep faith with all and we are assured we will meet her again when God calls each of us by name. Linda was dearly loved and will be missed by all.
Special thanks go to the staff at St. Luke's Hospital, 5C, and St. Luke's Hospice for all their love and support during this difficult time. May God bless you all XXOO.
Hang on Heaven - here comes our spunky angel
