Pansy Louise (Mitchell) Cotton, 93, passed away Jan. 20, 2015, at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center in Cedar Rapids.
Pansy was born April 19, 1921, to Chehoydia and Florence (Cashion) Mitchell in Clarkton, Mo. On Dec. 14, 1947, she married George Cotton in St. Louis, Mo. She was a homemaker, practical nurse and loving mother to her own three daughters and over 400 foster children.
Pansy is survived by her daughters, Barbara Williams of Cedar Rapids, Arlinda Cotton of Wisconsin and Vonda (Majad) Sultan of Clinton; sisters, Catherine Thompson of Campbell, Mo.; brother, James Mitchell of St. Louis; grandchildren, Mike Nelson, Shawna Blauer, Krstina Elder, Talat Sultan, Sam Cotton and Brian Wells; six great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, her sisters, Henrietta Coleman, Wanda Hicks, Nellie Hinman, Dorothy Babb, Neoma and Patsy Mitchell; and her brothers, Paul, David and Robert Mitchell.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
