Palmer, Christopher Lee 'Stretch'
Christopher Lee “Stretch” Palmer of Cedar Rapids, died Aug. 31, 2013, of a sudden illness.
Chris was born Oct. 21, 1975, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Arthur and Jacqueline (Palmer) Oxley. He spent several years in Sacramento, Calif.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Lisbon Methodist Church, Lisbon, Iowa. Burial will be at a later date at Raetz Cemetery, Atkins.
Chris loved sports and was a big 49ers, Kings and San Francisco Giants Fan. He loved playing basketball and often coached kids just for fun. Chris loved movies, fishing, camping, riding and spending time with his “best friend” Zeus, his white German Shepherd.
A loving son, brother and uncle, Chris is survived by his mother, Jacqueline (Richard) Oxley of Cedar Rapids; brother, Cameron (Patricia) Ulrich of St. Louis; sisters, Kimberly (Scott) Yeater of Shellsburg and Janell Palmer of California; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Art; and brother, Jarette.

Chris will be remembered for his laugh, smile and willingness to help others. He will be greatly missed.
