Pal, Diane
Diane Pal, 46, of Hiawatha, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Burial and Gathering: 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Palo Cemetery. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Diane was born Sept. 30, 1965, the daughter of LaVerne and Patricia (Swanson) Martens, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from Prairie High School in 1984. Diane worked as a contact lens specialist for an optical business.
Diane was a wonderful mother and was the backbone of the family. She was fun, outgoing, good-hearted and always there for everyone. Diane loved her cats.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacie Horn; her husband, Madan; her mother, Pat Martens; a sister, Laura Martens; nephew, Reggie Harris; great-niece, Arianna Harris; special friends, William Stewart, Ericka Odneal and the Kvidahl family; and her cats, Stella, Flower and Gizzy.
She was preceded in death by her father, and her grandmother, Leola.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Diane's memory.
