Paisley, Virginia Louise
Virginia Louise Paisley, 87, of Fairfax, went to be with the Lord after a recent illness on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Michael Frey of Calvary Baptist Church. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Entombment: Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include two sisters, Rosemary (Lee) Hahn and Nadene Roberts; and many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl in 2003; brothers, Don and Bill Jones; and a brother-in-law, John Roberts.
Virginia was born Nov. 15, 1921, the daughter of Loran and Jennie (Davidson) Jones in Dexter, Mo. In 1947, she was united in marriage to Carl Paisley in Piggott, Ark. Before moving to Iowa, Virginia was employed at Elder Manufacturing. Later Virginia and Carl moved to Hot Springs, Ark., but again moved back to Iowa. She worked for Smulekoffs, Sears and retired from Lil Drug. For many years, Virginia's special love was being a Stanley Home Products dealer. She enjoyed selling the products and traveling with her Stanley friends.
Memorials may be made to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, 315 18th Ave., Hiawatha, IA 52233, in memory of Virginia.
