Oxley, Richard 'Dick' J.
Richard “Dick” J. Oxley, 78, of Lisbon, died Thursday at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Faith Bible Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Steve Benton. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Joan; daughters, Kim (Greg) Zach of Cedar Rapids and Holly (Ron) Auman of Hiawatha; grandchildren, Daniel (Crystal) Zach, Chassidy (Ryan) Olson, Trent (Ashley) Auman and Tyler Auman; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Emma, Ronin, Caiden and Brantley; and a brother, Homer (Gerry) Oxley of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dick was born Aug. 15, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, to Edgar and Evelyn Hammond Oxley. He married Joan Usher in Marion on Dec. 11, 1954. He was employed at Searles Dairy, Peter Pan Bakery, Clayt's Auto and retired after 30 years as a crane operator for Local 234.
Dick enjoyed woodworking, gardening and bird-watching. Dick was a member of Faith Bible Church for over 40 years.
A memorial fund has been established.
