Overbey, Mark Eric
Mark Eric Overbey, 53, of Springfield, Mo., lost his fight on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, after a battle with lung cancer.
He was born Feb. 25, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and later relocated to Springfield. Mark served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany, but spent the majority of his adult life in auto sales. At the time of his death, he was employed in sales with Thompson Buick GMC Cadillac. He was united in marriage to Janice DeWitt on Aug. 30, 1997, which blended two families.
Survivors include his wife, Janice of the home; children, Daniel Ericsson, Beth Ericsson and Eric Overbey, all of Springfield and Bethanie Reynolds of Roswell, N.M.; one granddaughter, Aurora Overbey of Springfield; mother and stepfather, Rosemary and Lee Hahn; siblings, Gina Taylor and husband Brian of Cedar Rapids, and Rodney Overbey of Springfield; aunt, Nadene Roberts of Cedar Rapids; and numerous other loving relatives and a host of friends.
A celebration of Mark's life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield.

Mark will be remembered as a kind and generous person and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
