Ostrom, Steven Dale

Steven Dale Ostrom, 68, of McFarland, Wis., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at his home.

He was born on July 11, 1943, in Grinnell, Iowa, the son of Bruce and Kathryn Ostrom. Steven served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was an avid traveler, huge Iowa Hawkeyes fan and most importantly, enjoyed time with his family.

Steven is survived by his mother, Kathryn; wife, Jennifer; daughter, Lisa (Joe) Wilson; his grandchildren, Alex and Shelby; daughter, Jenifer Ostrom; stepsons, Aaron and Noah Cotter; brother, Gary Ostrom; and sisters, Linda Griffith, Diana Vanden Brink, Susan (John) Hollenbeck and Jill (Paul) Timm.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce.

Visitation will be held at Gunderson East Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, Wis., from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Kloster Funeral Home, 605 Jackson St., Brooklyn, Iowa, with the Rev. Clyde Leimberer presiding. Private burial will be at Hartwick Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Steven's name to Mayo Clinic or UW Carbone Cancer Clinic.
