Osborn, Joyce Claire
Joyce Claire Osborn was born Sept. 11, 1929, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Ross and Ada (Allison) Hall. She attended school in Williamsburg and California and graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1947. Joyce was united in marriage to Gene Osborn in 1953 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. To this union they had a son, Michael. They later divorced. She worked for many years at Poweshiek County Savings Bank in Brooklyn and later moved to Glendale, Ariz., where she worked as a secretary. At the age of 65, she retired and moved back to Williamsburg. She enjoyed doing word finds, watching the Wheel of Fortune, quilting and going to the casino on her birthday. Joyce died Monday, July 22, 2013, at the Highland Ridge Care Center, Williamsburg, at the age of 83 years.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Patti) Osborn of Belle Plaine; two grandchildren, Jonathan Osborn and fiancee Brooke Bryan of Sully and Crystal (Roger) Belcher of Grinnell; and three great-grandchildren, Rylee Ann Belcher, Adelyn May Belcher and Sawyer Madelyn Osborn.
She was preceded by her parents; a sister, Dorothy Hall; and a brother, Robert Hall.
Graveside Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Williamsburg. Pastor Gary Van Heukelom will officiate.
A general memorial fund has been established.
Powell Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Williamsburg is in charge of services.
