Ora Lee Hollingsworth, 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away May 4, 2022. A memorial visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment of cremains will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ora Lee is survived by her children, David (Diane) and Jean (Alex) Todd; grandchildren, Travis (Crystal) Hollingsworth, Denell (Rob) Kennedy, Tarah (Todd) Thompson, Nicki McNeese, Megan (Justin) Mitchell, Natalie Todd and Alexa Todd; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Logan, Spencer, Shaelin, Lilli, Violet, Jozlynn, Ella, Jaxon, Jase and Tristan; brother, Jerry (Maureen) Simmons; sister-in-law, Laura Simmons; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; son, Robert; siblings, Dickey, Regina, Craig, Alberta and Kieth; and special friend, Ralph.
Ora Lee was born on Aug. 29, 1933, to Albert and Edyth (McAtee) Simmons. She attended numerous country schools and graduated from Williamsburg High School. She was married to James Hollingsworth on Feb. 27, 1954. Ora Lee and James spent most of their life living in and around the Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Ora Lee worked for many years at Kirkwood Community College. After retirement Ora Lee enjoyed playing cards with her friends, going out to eat, playing bingo and meeting up with her long-time friends Cheryl Neal and Nellie Grade.
