Burnell O. Opperman, 84, of Oelwein, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at Mercy Living Plus, Oelwein. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Zion Lutheran Church, Oelwein. Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, with a Masonic service at 6 p.m. and a military service at 7 p.m. Friends may also call one hour before services Friday at the church.
