Opal Van Kerckvoorde, 88, of Belle Plaine, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Belle Plaine with Father Mike Mescher and Deacon Joe Behounek officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service in Belle Plaine, with a vigil service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the family.

She is survived by her son, Steve (Charlotte Andresen) Van Kerckvoorde of Ames; daughter-in-law, Renee (Johnathan) Micklos of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Steve Jr. (Jennifer) Van Kerckvoorde of Norwalk, Kristen (Keith) Herndon of Ames, Tabitha Van Kerckvoorde of Sioux City and Mindy (Chad) Martin of Cedar Rapids; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ruth Baker of Ankeny, Carroll Border of Belle Plaine and Katie (Larry) Roth of Belle Plaine; along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; son, Richard Van Kerckvoorde; and Grandpa and Grandma Mumby.
