Opal M. Uher, 88, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Waterloo, died at Meadowview in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, of natural causes.
She was born Oct. 16, 1927, in Mammoth Springs, Ark., the daughter of James and Lily Pepper Powell. She married Donald C. Uher on June 19, 1951, in Waterloo. He died June 5, 1975.
She was a homemaker in her own home and a member of the Audubon Society.
Opal is survived by her sons, James (Sherry) Uher of Cedar Rapids and Michael Uher Sr. of Detroit, Mich.; four grandchildren, Heidi Mitchell, Michael Uher Jr., Jolynn Uher and Sara Uher; four great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel Powell of Portland, Ore.; and brother, Rollie (Faye) Powell of Little Rock, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, Clay, Elzie and Wallace Powell; and an infant sister.
Graveside services: 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo. Inurnment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo.
