Ona Darline Schultz Danker, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, April 20, 2018, in West Ridge Care Center. On behalf of Ona's request, there will be no services. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her sons, Larry E. (Lorie) Danker and William J. (Cyndi Houser) Danker, both of Newhall, Iowa; her granddaughter, Stephanie Danker; and a sister, Shirley Larsen of Grinnell, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence C. Danker; her parents, J. William and Emma Schultz; her brothers, F. William Schultz, John E. Schultz and Denton Schultz; and sisters, Betty Schultz, Margaret Schultz and Marilyn Benishek.
Ona was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Bryant, S.D., the daughter of J. William and Emma (Pauls) Schultz. She moved from South Dakota to Iowa in 1935. She graduated from high school in Belle Plaine, Iowa, in 1948, and graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1953. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Danker on April 28, 1956, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Ona was employed as a nurse for 35 years and a member of the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees.
