O'Meara, Kimberly K.
Kimberly K. O'Meara, 46, of Bloomington, Ill., departed this world on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, surrounded by friends and family, following a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Kim had formerly lived in Iowa, Lincoln, Nebraska and Round Rock, Texas, and leaves many cherished friends from her past.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Church of Merna, Bloomington, with the Rev. Julius Turyatoranwa officiating. Visitation will begin with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy service at 3 p.m. Sunday at at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, and conclude with the rosary at 7 p.m. There also will be visitation for one-half hour before services Monday at the church. Additional visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Elkader, with a brief prayer service at 2 p.m., to be followed by burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Elkader.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Terrence; four children at home, Conor, Meghan, Mary and Ben; four siblings, LuAnn (Al) Novotny of Manchester, Barb (Duane) Schultes of Lakeview, John (Michelle) Walsh of Oviedo, Fla., and Peggy (Eddie) Hughes of Clovis, Calif.; multiple nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure or Epiphany Building Fund.
