Omashrie "Oma" Parmesar, 57, of Anamosa, Iowa, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa.
Oma was born Oct. 18, 1963, in Guyana, the daughter to Dindayal and Toolsia (Rampersaud) Gajraj. Oma was united in marriage to her only sweetheart, Mukesh Parmesar, on March 31, 1985, in South America. Oma dedicated her life to serving Jesus Christ and serving her family.
Oma is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, Mukesh Parmesar of Anamosa, Iowa; daughter, Nanda (Massie) Parmesar of Rome; son, Jimmy (Angela) Parmesar of Anamosa, Iowa; six grandchildren, Axel, Mindy, Kesia, Jael, Stetson and Dietrick; mother, Toolsia Gajraj of Bronx, N.Y.; four brothers, Vishnu, Hiatram, Shivo and Mahendra; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
