Olson, Nellie Iva
Nellie Iva Olson, 88, of Marion, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at her home. Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, n Marion, where family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include her children, Lonnie (Lee) Alitz of Cedar Rapids, and Gerry (Jeff) Van Meter of Marion; grandchildren, Robert (Connie) VanWinkle and Tiffany (Spencer) Northway; great-grandchildren, Jacob VanWinkle, Jordyn VanWinkle and William John Northway; sibling, William (Arlene) Boots of Cedar Rapids, Chuck (Marlene) Boots of Marion, Herman (JoAnn) Boots of Cedar Rapids, and Catherine (Fred) Wink of Anamosa; two special friends, Jackie Sadler and Diane Seeley; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Fred and Donny Boots.
Nellie was born Oct. 31, 1923, in Bliss, New York, the daughter of William Joseph and Iva Luenett (Gundlach) Boots. She was a member of Oakland Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed camping, music, dancing, and her grandchildren.
