Olson, Maracella Esther
Marcella Esther Olson, 89, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Norway and Belle Plaine, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following a sudden illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Norway, by the Rev. Craig Steimel, celebrant. Burial will be in the Norway Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church chapel, where there will be a prayer service and remembrance time at 7 p.m.
She is survived by a son, Thomas (Devonay) Olson of Ramona, Calif.; daughters, Mary Suzanne Olson of Denver, Colo., Jan (Tom) Vrban of Coralville, Marcia (Steve) Tiffany of Fairfield and Terry (Doug) Siedsma of West Bend, Wis.; brothers, Merle (Leota) Garwood and Dennis (Pat) Garwood, both of Cedar Rapids; sister, Jane (Rich) Himmelsbach of Norway; sister-in-law, Rita Garwood of Marion; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established.
